General Description of Role:

Responsible and accountable for all aspects of programming in the program area – particular high quality contract deliverables; new program development and conceptual strategic leadership with respect to area specific programs/projects; team building & staff development; representation and coordination.

Key Duties:
  • Ensure compliance of (Letter of Agreement) LOA by all projects in the cluster by way of field monitoring visits, review of monthly narrative and financial reports
  • Ensure all the area adhere to ChildFund programming principles; procurement, administrative and financial policies
  • Provide technical and administrative assistance to Coordinators in the various projects to enable them meet their goals
  • Monitor projects to pro-actively identify risks related to LOA/Contract compliance and prescribe, implement and manage corrective action
  • Ensure ChildFund is updated on progress and developments in the Area through timely submission of reports
  • Ensure ChildFund funds are used in accordance with ChildFund policies and procedures
  • Ensure timely audit within Area is undertaken on all the projects and that issues arising from the audits as well as audit recommendations are implemented
  • Build and foster good relations between ChildFund Kenya, other NGOs, and GOK in order to enhance ChildFund image, visibility and access to information resources
Required Experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience in program development and management
  • Demonstrated experience to child rights approaches
  • Experience in programme design, budget development/financial management and report writing
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in social sciences
